In arthritis there will be inflammation of the joint
and severe fever. The joints may swell and become red. It is common in the
aged. However these symptoms are also observed in obese people. There will be
stiffness of the joints. The disease aggravates when people become more obese.
As there is gain in weight the bones and joints wear out more and the person
becomes unable even to walk.
Exercise is very essential for the production of calcium and to prevent its depletion in
the bones. When there is no activity the amount of calcium in and around the
bones and joints will naturally reduce causing stiffness in the joints. Obesity
become complicated by degenerative arthritis called osteoarthritis. If person
loses weight there is less wear and tear.
